Lyrical New Years Eve at La Monnaie - Paris

Celebrate New Year’s Eve with the great arias of opera and Viennese operetta, up close to the artists.

On 31 December at 8.30pm, La Monnaie de Paris opens its doors to a limited number of guests in evening dress for the second edition of a musical New Year’s Eve celebration of the great opera arias.

Four talented artists will perform a festive programme specially designed for this unique occasion.

An exceptional cocktail reception using the finest ingredients will be served with caviar and champagne.

Enjoy an unforgettable evening in France’s oldest institution, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, with exceptional views over the Seine and the Louvre.

Great scenes from Puccini’s La Bohème, Verdi’s Rigoletto and Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, festive arias from the famous Viennese operettas by Strauss and Lehár, and plenty of surprises…

The 2014 Adami Revelation Artist, soprano Armelle Khourdoïan took her first steps at the Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Paris. Whether in Milan or on the vast Chorégies d’Orange stage, her rich voice excels in a wide range of repertoires.

Baryton

With his powerful, warm voice adapted to the Italian repertoire, baritone Marc Souchet has already taken on many Verdian and Puccinian roles. He has also explored French operas which he handles with equal ease.

Katia Weimann
Piano

Katia Weimann began playing the piano at the age of 6 and quickly developed a passion for opera. She works closely with singers and, as lead pianist, accompanies the Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra Comique.

La Monnaie de Paris welcomes you to its majestic 18th-century neoclassical palace.
At the top of the Escalier d’Honneur, the Salon Guillaume Dupré, inspired by Italian Renaissance models, becomes a unique setting for the opera.
